1st edition of ART ON SCREEN ( 5/9-11/10 2019)
We are delighted to announce the first edition of ART ON SCREEN, an exciting season dedicated to the best of international living arts on the big screen: Presenting musicals, theatre, dance as well as concerts, documentaries, operas and plays adapted to the big screen. This season will be the opportunity to discover some of the leading artists and companies of the 21st and 20th century: From the stages of the National Theatre in London to those of Broadway while taking a trip down memory lane with Georges Brassens’s and Jacques Brel’s unforgettable repertoire. This season will be opened by Alexis Michalik’s acclaimed Edmond, the story behind the creation of Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac.
The Suzanne Dellal Center for Dance and Theater in Tel-Aviv is taking part in this first edition and will present four shows: Beethoven’s 9th Symphony by Mauric e Bejart with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and under the baton of Maestro Zubin Metha, a documentary about russian dancer and prodige Rudolpj Nureyev, an equestrian circus show “Battuta” by renowned french choreographer Bartabas as well as two concertis (Grieg and Chopin) played by the late Arthur Rubinstein.
