FIREFLIES by Bruno Bouché
Post-performance discussion October 26
Fireflies are fragile luminescent beings that sparkle in the night, metaphors of the spirit of resistance in the world order. Political reflection and poetic gesture, Fireflies, refers to the figure of Pier Paolo Pasolini, Italian film director, poet, writer, and intellectual. We are all small beings swallowed by the giants who take all the light. How can we fight despair in the chaos of the state of the world? How do we keep strength and courage, how do we walk lucidly on narrow pathways? How can we invent our present as much as our future, how do we keep joy at heart, and build communities? How can we continue to create?
