The Suzanne Dellal Centre for Dance and Theatre is proud to begin our 30th year with CanaDanse, the first celebration of Canadian dance in Israel, presenting a taste of the vast Canadian dance scene to Israeli audiences with three distinctly different works by some of Canada’s most exciting artists. Coming to Israel for the first time are acclaimed Ballet BC with mixed repertory by Crystal Pite, Emily Molnar, and Medhi Walerski; Vancouver’s up and coming Shay Kuebler; and Québec-based, Le Carré des Lombes with a work by Danièle Desnoyers. The focus on dance from Canada continues the Centre’s long history of presenting the foremost Canadian dance artists such as Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Marie Chouinard, Daniel Léveillé, Kidd Pivot, and others.
CanaDanse will delight audiences with a range of gorgeous concert-dance works and experimental choreographies, blurring the lines between ballet and contemporary dance. We invite you to experience the grandness of Ballet BC, delighting with the sleek lines of the company’s 18 dancers, the sensuality of Danièle Desnoyers’ all-female trio as they vibrate in close proximity, and the freshness and vigor of Shay Kuebler’s physical and technological acrobatics.
“CanaDanse is the culmination of many years of fruitful cooperation between Canada and The Suzanne Dellal Centre for Dance. We look forward to showcasing Canadian dance in Israel with this event which from our perspective is a wonderful opportunity to promote Canada’s overall visibility in Israel.”
-Canada’s Ambassador to Israel, Ms. Deborah Lyons
