International Exposure

International Exposure ONLINE
December 4-6, 2020

Suzanne Dellal Centre is pleased to present International Exposure ONLINE, a digital version of Suzanne Dellal Centre’s annual platform for contemporary dance in Israel. In light of the global pandemic, International Exposure ONLINE will take place on a digital platform that simulates the annual events as much as possible.

International Exposure ONLINE will present videos of short works of approximately 10-minutes. These may be new, independent short works; OR approximately 10-minutes based on a longer existing work. All works must have been created between June 1, 2019 and October 1, 2020. The new short-work format is dedicated to this unique period with the goal of reaching a wide and relevant audience, and offering intriguing content that is appropriate for viewing on a screen.

All works submitted for International Exposure ONLINE will be reviewed by the International Exposure Advisory Committee, to be convened at Suzanne Dellal Centre, October 4-8, 2020. The proposed works can be presented to the Committee in two ways:

  1. Live presentations at Suzanne Dellal Centre in front of the International Exposure Advisory Committee, October 4-8, 2020.  Applicants for live presentations are requested to be available on these dates.

  2. Videos of approximately 10 minutes. Applicants with videos do not need to be present for the committee.

Choreographers selected for International Exposure ONLINE will be given space at the Centre and technical staff (technician and sound person) for the filming of videos, as needed. Choreographers will be responsible for their own film crew. The final videos, produced by the artists, may be in any format (such as documentation of the work for stage or a dance film). It will be the responsibility of the selected artists to provide the Centre with the final film for broadcast by November 14, 2020.

From December 4-6, 2020, the Centre will broadcast the videos, according to a pre-set schedule. Each day will feature works by choreographers, as well as conversations for international guests to engage with artists and each other. Selected artists are asked to be available on festival dates.

A digital catalogue will offer guests information about each artist and their work, and will provide contact information so that guests and artists can connect.
All of the videos will be accessible for the guests on the digital platform until December 13, 2020.
