Journey to the Roots of Spanish Dance

Journey to the Roots of Spanish Dance: Past - Present - Future

Suzanne Dellal Center, Yerushalmi Hall

Thursdays, 8:30 p.m.

The Spanish dance refers within most of us to the sensuous flamenco dance, when in practice there are abundant varieties of Spanish dance styles.

We are delighted to invite you to a series of myth-breaking lectures with flamenco dancer and choreographer Mijal Natan. Together we will embark on an exploration of the rich and diverse culture and the abundance of styles of Spanish dance - from folklore ranging from the different districts of Spain to contemporary modern flamenco, including the surprising future directions of development and the conservation trends.

The lecture series is a special opportunity for a deep understanding of Spanish dance culture and will be accompanied by explanations and demonstrations.
Mijal Natan, senior flamenco dancer in Israel, has lived, experienced and researched Spanish dance culture for many years and is an inexhaustible source of knowledge.

The sessions will be accompanied by the COMPAS Dance Company in dance sections in addition to guest artists and other content experts.
