BalletBoyz - England

Them
and Us

World-renowned

BalletBoyz come to Suzanne Dellal Centre for a performance of explosive balletic power in an evening of
Them
and Us.
Them is created through a unique, collaborative choreographic process by the BalletBoyz company dancers. In an uncharacteristically democratic process, they improvised, workshopped ideas, developed tasks and eventually began to tie down a common movement language that forms the basis of the work. The piece explores the individuality that resides within each dancer and the versatility of movement which the company has always been known for. In Us,
Tony and Olivier Award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon explores human connections. It culminates in a tender duet which premiered in 2017 to public acclaim. Featuring all BalletBoyz dancers, the piece presents the company at its powerful best.

Michael Nunn and William Trevitt, BalletBoyz founders, are hailed as pioneers for making dance accessible and reaching wide audiences through their celebrated stage and television work. They came to prominence through their popular Channel 4 documentaries BalletBoyz I & II, Strictly Bolshoi, The Royal Ballet in Cuba and BalletBoyz: The Rite of Spring for BBC Three.

Founded in 2000, BalletBoyz established itself as one of the most original and innovative forces in dance. The company’s chief aim is to challenge, excite and enlighten audiences through its work, bringing together elements from diverse realms of the arts including composers, artists, designers and filmmakers. The company has won numerous awards and nominations including an Olivier Award, National Dance Awards, Rose d’Or, an International Emmy and two Golden Prague.
